Important Message from Coach Hill

Hope everyone had a great Christmas and Happy New Year. Hopefully it will be a 2012 to remember for our soccer programs. Just to update you on our practice schedule:

1. After school running practices will begin Wed. Jan. 11...This allows anyone going to the BCS game to be back in time to run...Roll Tide BTW. Feel Free to run on your own of course...I encourage and recommend it!! Times: 3:43 to 5:20.

2. Booster Club Meeting at 5:30 in Cafeteria on Thursday, January 12. At last meeting it was decided to feed everyone hot dogs; hopefully, that is still the plan. All players are encouraged to come and at least one parent for each player should be present....Important stuff to go over: Final fund raisers, Soccer handbook, schedule etc...

3. Those students in the strength training/soccer class will meet at the field house with their respective coaches on Thursday and I will see them there. Plan on working on the field during fourth Friday and Monday, at least, to begin getting the field, goals, practice goals etc... in shape. We will also begin running a little as well. Yes, you still need to be at "practice" on Wed. 11.

4. Finally, on Mon. Jan. 16 (MLK day)...Yes we are out of school. We will have two-a-day practices. Everyone, boys and girls, will attend from 9-11. After a short break, BOYS ONLY, will return at 1:00 and will be finished by 3:00; GIRLS will return at 3:00 and be done at 5:00. Most of the afternoon sessions will be scrimmage; however, that is subject to change if I'm in a bad mood!! :)

5. Finally (again) I am looking forward to the opportunity of coaching these groups here at Northridge. We have a ton of potential, but potential means very little if you don't work.

6. Finally (again) (again) Every player and parent needs to be on this site*.  It is the easiest way to get info. to you!

Thanks!
Coach Hill

His past coaching experience includes 8 years at Hillcrest High School as the Varsity Boys and JV Boys.  His Varsity Boys' team won 92 games, had one Regional Co-Championship and went to the playoffs 3 times- one as 5A & two as 6A.  Hillcrest VB team at one time ranked as high as #10 in the state under Coach Hill.

During the last of those eight years,Coach Hill also coached the Varsity Girls as well.  That year the Girls won 12 games and came in second in the 1st Annual Island Cup Classic in Gulf Shores
