Head Boys and Girls Coach
Coach Carter Hill
WELCOME COACH HILL
It is with great enthusiasm that we welcome Coach Carter Hill to Northridge High School and to the NHS Soccer Program as our Head Soccer Coach.
Coach Hill brings much experience to NHS Soccer. He holds a National "D" Soccer License along with State and Regional Goalkeeping Licenses. His past coaching experience includes 8 years at Hillcrest High School as the Varsity Boys and JV Boys. His Varsity Boys' team won 92 games, had one Regional Co-Championship and went to the playoffs 3 times- one as 5A & two as 6A. Hillcrest VB team at one time ranked as high as #10 in the state under Coach Hill.
During the last of those eight years,Coach Hill also coached the Varsity Girls as well. That year the Girls won 12 games and came in second in the 1st Annual Island Cup Classic in Gulf Shores
For 4 years, Coach Hill was an Assistant Coach with Shelton State Community College Girls team under Nellie Christian. Shelton State Girls made the playoffs every year and the Sweet 16 in the NATION 3 of the 4 years in their division. Shelton State ranked as high as 13 in the Nation and as high as 1 academically.
After the Shelton program was disbanded for financial reasons, Coach Hill chose to coach the girls at Hillcrest where the team won 11 games his first year back and 9 games this past season, totaling 32 wins in 3 seasons of coaching girls.
Coach Hill is married to Kristi Hill. They have two beautiful girls, Addisyn (4) and Avery (2).

Coach Shane Ashcraft

Shane is from Montgomery, where he played high school soccer for Brewbaker Tech. High School. He moved to Tuscaloosa in 2004 to attend UA, where he played rugby. This is his first year at NHS where he teaches English 10 and 11.
While in college, he worked with campus rec (intramural sports, personal fitness, and facilities). Coach Ashcraft is a certified fitness instructor through American Council on Exercise.
Will Scogin
Assistant Coach - Boys
Will graduated from Northridge HIgh School in 2009 and currently attends the University of Alabama where he is a Junior majoring in Chemical Engineering. He holds a National "D" coaching license. While at NHS Will received several soccer awards - '06 Jaguar Award , '08 Most Valuable Offensive Player and '09 Most Valuable Player.
Will began playing soccer at age 4 and played club soccer from age 9. On two occassions he had the opportunity to play in International tournaments in Germany where his team won one of the tournaments. He continues his playing in Tuscaloosa with an adult soccer league and enjoys the UofA soccer intramurals. His teams in the past have won DII State tournaments, advanced to the National 3v3 Got Milk National Tournament, played in the AHSA Final Four tournament and won numerous league championships.
